The 9th Ave El 42nd St station remained as a local station during the 1914 express track installation.

The Ninth Ave El traversed three North-South Avenues and Jerome Ave in the Bronx

Eighth Ave from the curve from 110th St North to the 158th St yard  

Ninth / Columbus - North from Gansevoort St to the curve onto 110th

Greenwich St - from Battery Place to Gansevoort St

Going East from The Battery Place Station, the two track structure went across Battery Park to Whitehall St where the original South Ferry Terminal was located before the larger terminal was built at the ferry terminal resulting in the "Y" stucture that connected the East and West Side Els.

Going North from The Battery Place Station, the level junction with the 6th Ave El the two track structure over Greenwich St spreads out from a level double turnout to a four track structure with the 6th Ave Line on the right. The 6th Ave line ramps up a few feet to the higher elevation of Trinity Place and turns to the right at Morris St onto Trinity Place.

Going North on Greenwich St, the line crossed the following streets;
